Meet Tammy
With my clients, regardless of training, stretching, exercise, or massage therapy – my approach and attitude is the same. There is no judgement or negative talk, no requirements or forced choices – my vision and goal:
We do the best we can with the bodies we’ve been given.
Experience and Education
I started taking heated yoga and fitness classes over 10 years ago and found benefits from better sleep to less congestion and beyond. Shortly after I obtained teacher training for High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Yoga Hybrid group fitness classes. A natural progression was becoming a Certified Personal Trainer – I’ve worked primarily with individuals in their home that have repetitive motion or desk jobs that need stretching, opening of joints as well as functional movement and fitness.
More recently, I graduated from East-West Healing Arts Institute, completing their 800-hour curriculum and am a Licensed Massage Therapist and Bodyworker. I have been and continue to take herbalism classes and am introducing the wellness benefits of custom teas and tinctures to enhance the quality of my practice.
My Approach to Massage
I am passionate and proficient in general anatomy of the body and how it resonates with massage modalities as well as adapting to a client’s individual needs. Active listening and a critical thinking approach to the body allows me to integrate the most effective and beneficial session.
Favorite Style of Training
I feel that strength from the ground up allows for better overall strength and posture. I enjoy balance work as well as compound exercises. I strive for myself and clients to have long term mobility and functional movement.
A Quote I Love
"Be happy with what you have and are, be generous with both and you won't have to hunt for happiness."
Why I Love Group Fitness Classes
From the first class I attended in 2012, I was ALL in! I loved the style and all aspects of the experience. I noticed an increase in balance and strength and found a sense of community, warmth, and non judgement - which I didn't know I was looking for!
Little Known Fact About Me
I was a pediatric oncology patient. I have had some pretty huge experiences at a young age that have inspired me in various aspects of my life as well as humbled me in a way that I hope I can teach my children without them ever having to go through it.
